Peshawar : Final Electoral Lists 2012 have been displayed at district Election Offices, Agency offices and at the offices of assistant registrars where people can confirm their names and the electoral books.
Provincial Election Commissioner SM Tariq Qaderi has urged the citizens to verify their names in the electoral rolls at district and agency offices of election commission.
He said this is the responsibility of every citizen to check his or her name in the voter list and fill a form at the Election Commission office in case there will be any mistake in registration of name or citizen name will not be registered in the voter lists.
He said that the citizens could get their name register in the voter list after they submitt their application along with their CNIC copy at ECP district and agency offices.
He said the forms for new registration and correction could be received from the Election Commission district and Fata offices without any payment besides it could also be downloaded from ECP website www.ecp.gov.pk.
Mr. Qaderi said the voter can also confirm his registration in the voter list by sending his ID card number in SMS on 8300.
He appealed to the civil society, women organizations, political parties and media to play their due role in this regard.
He said the display of voter lists will continue till announcement of election schedule therefore citizens could rectify their names, make correction and submit their objections before this period.
