Karachi, The luscious Pakistan mango went on display in Dutch city of Rotterdam at 9th annual exhibition of Pakistani mangoes organized by Commercial Wing of Pakistan Embassy, The Hague, with support of Pakistan Horticulture Development & Export Company PHDEC, a message received here Friday said.
Ten varieties of Pakistani mangoes displayed included Chaunsa, Sindhri, Dusehri, Anwar Retol, Sunehra, Badami, Langra, Fajri and Malda. A large number of Dutch buyers of fruits, vegetables visited exhibition organized as B2B event. First session was exclusively for trade visitors. In second session, diplomatic corps members, functionaries of Dutch Government and Dutch consumers visited and appreciated sweet and aromatic fruit from Pakistan.
The Netherlands is most important market of mangoes in European Union EU and is indeed a gateway to Europe. The Netherlands is the second largest importer and re-exporter of mangoes in the world.
Bashir Hussain, Chief Executive Officer PHDEC said the Netherlands, constituting 56% of entire mango import of Europe, is important market for Pakistani mangoes.
