Islamabad, President Asif Ali Zardari Wednesday called for expediting work on power generation projects being undertaken in the country with cooperation of China’s Three Gorges Corporation.
Talking to visiting Chinese delegation led by Senior Vice President China Three Gorges Corporation Wang Shaofeng he said Pakistan is also keen to have Chinese assistance in conserving its water resources. Lauding involvement of Three Gorges Corporation in power generation projects particularly solar and wind project in Sindh he invited to invest in new projects and participate in construction of small, medium dams in the country.
President reiterated government’s assurance of all possible facilitation to Chinese company in construction of dams and alternate energy projects. The projects undertaken with Three Gorges Corporation’s assistance will add 2500MW electricity in system of which about 1950MW will be hydro and rest generated by wind and solar energy.
