Rs 11,250 mln allocated for irrigation sector

LAHORE: Punjab government has allocated a sum of Rs 11,250 million for the development of Irrigation sector in the fiscal year 2011-12.Allocation for the irrigation allocation is Rs 245 million more than the last year.According to budget documents, Rs 2,510 million would be spent on 20 new schemes while Rs 8,697 million on 43 ongoing schemes.However, foreign aid of Rs 5,383 million would be utilized for the new and ongoing schemes in irrigation sector.
