Rs 2100 mln for Emergency Service

LAHORE: The Punjab government has allocated an amount of Rs 2100 million for various schemes of Emergency Services in the budget for the fiscal year 2011-12.According to budget documents, Rs 849 million would be spent on three new schemes while Rs 1,251 million on six ongoing schemes.

New schemes include providing security measures at existing Emergency Rescue Stations in Punjab, block allocation for covering new tehsils under emergency service, block allocation fast moving,new and unfunded schemes.Ongoing schemes includes Establishment of Emergency Services Academy at Lahore,Establishment of Emergency in district Chiniot, Establishment of Emergency Service in major cities of Punjab, Establishment of Emergency Service in remaining 24 districts of Punjab, strengthening of Emergency Service in existing cities and Establishment of Emergency Service in 12 tehsils of Punjab.
