ISLAMABAD, June 3: The government allocated Rs. 31974 million for Planning and Development Division projects in Public Sector Development Programme (PSDP) for the year 2011-12.According to the budgetary document released here on Friday, out of the total allocations, Rs. 7144.043 million have been allocated for ongoing projects where as Rs. 24830.551 for devolved projects. Among the ongoing projects, the government allocated Rs.400 million for Second Trade Transport Facilitation Project-National Trade Corridor Management Unit (World Bank), Rs. 353.160 for upgradation of PPMI Phase-II (Construction of PPMI Commplex, Islamabad) Rs.100 million for Draught Recovery Assistance Programme (DRAPP)/DERA-II and Rs.45 million for restructuring of PIDE to function as wold class center of excellence for research and post graduate teaching by improving infrastructure and building capacity.
Among the devolved projects, the government allocated an amount of Rs.1549.092 million for Population Welfare Program Punjab (2003-08), Rs. 884.842 million for Population Welfare Programme Sindh (2003-08), Rs.477.403 million for Population Welfare Programme Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (2003-08), Rs.390.977 Population Welfare Programme Balochistan, Rs.41.155 million for Papulation Welfare Programme for Gilgit Baltistan (2003-08) and Rs. 78.195 for Population Welfare Programme AJK (2003-08) while Rs.34.571 has been earmarked for the Population Welfare Programme FATA (2003-08).
According to the budgetary document, Rs.8000 have been allocated for National Programme for Family Planning and Primary Health Care, Rs. 2280.883 million for National Maternal, Neonatal and Child Health Programme and Rs.2716 million for Expand Programme on Immunization (EPI), control of Diarrheal Disease (CDD) NIH Islamabad.
The government has allocated Rs.6258.813 million for devolved subjects at federal level while Rs.600 million have been allocated for Prime Minister’s Programme for Prevention and Control of Hepatitis.
